A Summer Streams into Fall

May the light of compassion guide you every step of your life.

Reimaging Newsletter September 2015

Opening to Freedom from Addictions As the season changes from summer to fall, autumn leaves can be seen in sparkling waters flowing downstream…except those leaves that are caught spinning on the side of the stream in small whirlpools. This may be just the right time to stop spinning in the stream of life and get back into the flow. First let’s look at: How to circumnavigate denial. All addictions carry a healthy portion of denial. Denial is a left brain ego defense mechanism. Here I’m teaching you how to go around your natural tendency for denial and get right to knowing. Addictions also carry what I call the 3 R’s: Resistance, Rebellion and Running, which are also left brain ego functions. These keep you spinning so fast that you actually think you are getting somewhere in life, and in your spiritual growth. These natural ego defenses are part of what need to be identified and overcome.

All of us have a right brain, that part of the brain that governs our intuition, knowing, spatial sense, artistic ability and much more. Most of us have the ability to know what is good for us, what we need, and how to proceed – mentally, physically, financially, emotionally and psychologically. To help us determine our next step, we need to find methods to contact the part of us which governs our intuition, our ability for knowing, the right brain. On my website http://www.intuitivesecrets.net there is a video for stress reduction with sound (song flower healing) where I teach a few methods for connecting with the right brain. Once you learn how to measure your intuitive energy, then what becomes really important are the questions you ask. For example, you might ask yourself, regarding addictions on a scale of 1 to 10 how addicted am I to _______. You can use kinesiology (muscle testing) or visual process of 12 doors below.) How much do I need sobriety 1 to 10? Now ask about how much do I need to cut down 1 to 10? Many people do kinesiology with me or work with a pendulum. Or, learn other methods as presented below. We are all made of energy that is vibrating, tingling and alive. We are all made of energy that is vibrating, tingling and alive. Because forward movement. Yet, in all of this, because of the nature of addictions to balance brain chemistry, numb us from life, etc., we may be content to drift. Many of us have a hard time conceiving of a behavior of ours as an addiction. Even though we may be tripping over this addiction every day for years, we may not recognize it until someone says something to us. This is the denial mechanism. Addictions often serve us in the moment like a tranquilizer or give a sense of excitment to replace getting these needs met in a healthy way. At least that’s what most folks are aiming to achieve. We are hoping to balance our lives so that we can handle perceived stresses, tension or boredom, loneliness in our lives, in a way that gets us by and makes life survivable. Most of us want to be cool or hide from ourselves during stressful or mundane situations. So, it’s easier to turn to our addiction rather than face the facts and take responsiblity for our lives and getting back into the stream. Many people that I see do kinesiology with me. What we usually find out is that most of the time folks are compensating for a state of almost perpetual low serotonin, low dopamine, low lithium or suffer from other brain chemistry imbalances.

Today let’s face our addictions and clear them by being willing to take healthy steps to balance the body/mind/spirit and handle life’s many challenges. Addictive patterns work against us both in our current relationships and/or in attracting new love and friendships into our lives. They block us from moving forward in careers, life purpose (you are on this earth for a reason!) and allow stress to build up in our lives in a feedback loop so that we need more of the addiction to deal with the stress created by the addictive reaction in the first place. Our addictions are all too often the outcome of trauma that has occurred in prior relationships, in our childhoods, or often even dating back from before birth. In regression therapy we often find the root cause of addictions. Regardless of your beliefs of how this happens, is not what is important. What is clearly imperative is to clear what Calvin Banyan refers to as “the ISE”, the “Initial Sensitizing Event” of the mind/body/spirit. For example, social fears and shyness are often allayed by drugs, alcohol, or worked out by some other addiction. The more one uses addictions in public, the more that person is likely to be avoided because of the negative behavioral changes seen by others. Or, they may handle social phobia or fears by withdrawal into entertainment addiction and retire to the home to watch TV, be on social media on the computer, or fighting with their spouse. So, using alcohol in public acts as a self-destructive mechanism making one’s social life even more challenging. This is an example of the spiraling down of the addictive process as a feedback loop, the spinning leaf. Opening doors to freeing oneself from addictions Here are two processes you can work with to clear these patterns using guided imagery. To begin, being as honest with yourself as possible, rate your addictive tendencies in general on a scale of 1 to 10, use your kinesiology, pendelum or this alternative way to sense subconscious addictions. Doors of Invitation (From Reimaging: Transforming your Life by ReInventing Yourself”, by Santosha Nobel.) Begin breathing in relaxation and out all tension. Let yourself go. Now, consciously set aside anything that might be bothering you. See yourself walking through the forest on a cool end of a summer day. Feel and hear the pine needles crunch beneath your feet and feel the intermittent warmth of the sun on your face. Hear the birds. Reach out and touch the rough bark of the trees as you walk past them. See the trees swaying, creating patterns of light and shadow on the forest floor. Keep walking forward on your path, smelling the scent of pine. You can hear the stream with the leaves in it flowing beside you. Continue to walk forward feeling relaxed and comfortable as you drift and float into a deep state of peace and calm. You come upon a beautiful round dome-like stone structure that glistens in the sunlight. It’s time to enter it. That’s it, go ahead and walk into this expansive, domed, circular room of cool stones. Breathe the cool, comfortable fresh air of the room. There is a soft dais that you can sit on in the center of the room. You find yourself drawn to that place. Once seated, you notice that this room has twelve doors, some may be open, some may be closed. As you close your eyes, intend that the open doors will indicate freedom from addiction – addiction to love, relationships, alcohol, drug, cigarettes, entertainment, work, food, etc. The larger the number of closed doors, the greater the intensity of the addiction and likely the more it is affecting your life whether you are conscious of it or not. See, sense or feel how many doors are open and how many are shut. Now that you have a sense of the energy of your addiction, which makes up the closed doors, we can proceed. (Caution: It’s best to address one addiction at a time. It’s common for folks to have multiple addictions so go back and repeat these imagery scenes as needed for insights and clearing in each area.) These doors may each indicate a different pattern. If you want insights do the following exercise: Returning to your forest and stream, you can allow energy now to be represented by one of the brown, dead spinning leaves you pull out of the stream. Study the veins and allow it to speak to you or imagine and sense that it could become a shriveled up person explaining what is causing even the most seemingly innocent or slight addiction or how you abuse yourself or others with food, drugs, behaviors etc. Just listen closely to it and your heart, and let ideas flow. Go ahead and ask questions of this imagined leaf or person that represents that part of you that is addicted. Allow the energy of the answers to flow up your hands that cup the leaf or the face of this inner part of you, allowing it to flow into your heart. When you feel you’ve gotten enough insight, it’s time to move on. As you continue to sit before the gurgling stream, you feel a soft comfortable breeze and the warmth of the sun. You hear birds and smell the distinctive scent of the forest. You feel at peace as you view your addiction, as your attempt to balance the brain chemicals, strong emotions, intense fear, anger reactions, stress, tension, boredom, loneliness etc. that are ongoing in your life. You can get back in the stream, you can feel safe doing that. Remember, addictions become a habit and are a habitual knee jerk response to stress, a way to avoid looking at the truth, or facing your pain. In my view they are an attempt balance yourself. All of this can be overcome. Imagine now that you take the dead leaf that you hold in your hand and begin to tear it apart as you intentionally breathe out the energy of addiction. Continue to tear, and clear this energy as you breathe. Intend and imagine or sense that this energy is leaving you on every level – emotions, beliefs, personality (behavior), your subconscious, thought patterns, your body and the seven chakras. That’s right, intend it is leaving all the levels that Reimaging addresses. Keep intending and breathing out this limiting energy as you drop bits of the dead leaf into the stream. Watch them float down the stream as you focus your life energy towards emotional freedom, health, and a purposeful, meaningful life. Soon all of your old reasons for addictions are gone. Now go back and check those twelve doors again for one of your addictions. When all of the doors are open, this indicates you are free from this addiction. If you still have closed doors, just repeat the above exercise. If numbers are easier for you for measuring what is left of the energy of addiction, use your 1 to 10 scale, kinesiology, doors, or pendulum to measure right brain activity. Finally, let’s imagine that an Eagle carrying pine cones drops them in areas of dirt before you on the shore by the stream. Watch as the pine cones take root and become bright new green sprouts, pushing through the dirt, forming into trees that grow with strength, endurance and persistence. These pine trees will represent your committment to filling your life with sobriety, an abundance of love, open hearted joy, motivation, healing from addiction, happiness, peace and compassion, being present in each moment and enjoying life with gratitude.

This is one beginning step toward sobriety, or being free of an addiction. Remember, addiction can be a gift because it affects all aspects of life and is an invitation to overcome old limiting patterns that keep you spinning around. Enjoy your journey into the new happy, peaceful, and healthy you, in the flow of your life path, your purpose. People are generally much more successful if they have someone to check in with or if they journal their behavior. Accountability makes up 40% of success with addictions. You can use your Reimaging Course, if you have it, order it if you choose, or you can call me for a Reimaging session or quick Sound Healing session if you need help. The aim is to clear these types of blocks and thoughts through to the roots, then reprogram you to have more peace, joy and love as you reach out for new opportunities. ****************** Blessings, Santosha
